Pat Grassley is the Iowa State Representative from the 17th District. He has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2006.

Grassley originally served on several committees in the Iowa House - the Human Resources committee; the Labor committee; and the Ways and Means committee. He also serves on the Agriculture and Natural Resources Appropriations Subcommittee.

Grassley was elected in 2006 with 6,553 votes (56%), defeating Democratic opponent Alek Wipperman. [1]

In 2008, Grassley was re-elected to a second term with 9,836 (65.7%), defeating democrat Cayla Baresel.

At the beginning of the 2009 Iowa House session, Grassley left the Human Resources committee and became the Ranking Member of the Rebuild Iowa and Disaster Recovery committee.

Pat is the grandson of Chuck Grassley, United States Senator from Iowa. [2]
